Plan a CAH Field Trip in 5 Easy Steps
It's easy and fun to
plan a field trip for our group to participate in. Here's how:
1. Think
about somewhere you want to go, something special to see, activity
to try, exhibits or tours coming through town, etc. Anything that
interests you, probably will interest others.
2. Call and find out
the details like fees, how many people to qualify for reduced rates,
what the best time is, what do they offer groups, are reservations
needed, etc.
4. Watch
for emails so you can get a head count and answer questions or
give more information if needed.
5. That's it. Decide on a meeting
place and welcome the group to a fun and enjoyable activity.

September
27th, 2006 Homeschool Dedication Ceremony/See you at the Pole Event
The Collegedale Area Homeschool Dedication Ceremony has always
been a time to dedicate ourselves, our families, our children
and our curriculum to God at the beginning of our homeschool year.
This year we are going to do it in conjunction with the
See You at the Pole event being held September 27th. In a world full
of chaos and endless activity, God is calling for us to slow down
and listen to Him. “Be STILL and KNOW that I am GOD” is the theme
for See You at the Pole this year and is perfect for our CAH
dedication ceremony.
We will meet at the flag pole located in the Military
Park on the greenway in Collegedale at 10am on September 27th. (The
big flag that flies over the army tank and the helicopter behind
Domino's Pizza plaza.) We will have a time of prayer for our
country, our President and the dedication of our homeschool year.
The
“Be STILL” theme is taken from Psalm 46:10, where God says, “Be still
and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations.” Many
are familiar with this Old Testament verse. But fewer would be aware
that in context, the admonition was God’s recommended response to
the chaos of natural disaster and wartime conflict, two conditions
that are as familiar to modern man as to the ancients. See You at
the Pole brings students to their school flagpoles to intercede
for their leaders, schools, and families, asking God to bring moral
and spiritual awakening to their campuses and countries. This year
Collegedale Area Homeschoolers will do the same and be a part of this special
nationwide event.
October 19th, 2006 - Tri-Community Fire
Dept. Fire Safety Field Trip
Our annual Tri-Community Fire Department
Safety field trip will be on Thursday, October 19th at 10am.
The Fire Marshall will have an educational talk on fire
safety, give away a lot of prizes and snacks, the kids watch a funny
fire safety video and he usually gives away a $100 gift card to Toys
R Us. After the talk, we will get to ride on the fire truck to the
next building and back. There will be time to explore the fire trucks,
ask questions, and meet new people. This is always one of the children's
favorite field trips each year.
Directions to the Fire Department:
Starting
at Four Corners with the old Winn-Dixie on your right and Eckerds
on your left, go straight like you are going into Collegedale. You
will pass McKee Thrift Store on your left and a used car lot. At the
Collegedale City Sign, (one where they put trash pickup dates and
meeting announcements) turn right. The Fire Dept. is on the right. If
you are planning on attending the Fire Department Safety Field Trip, you
will need to get two copies of the escape plan sheet PER child.
You make these plans with your children and then take one copy to
the Fire Department the day of the field trip. (They use these to
draw for the door prizes so make sure you bring yours.) The other
copy stays at your home for your family's reference
