Your name: Lacy M.
Your children's age and
names (if you feel comfortable): Mikinzy 3 1/2 and Emma 2 months.
How
many years you have homeschooled: none yet really unless you count
the preschool I'm doing with Mikinzy.
What you love about homeschooling:
I love the fact that I'M in control of my daughters education, and
I don't have to worry about things being forced on her that I wouldn't
want her to
learn about.
IE. I know in some public schools now they are only teaching evolution
and nothing about creation, and I find that wrong. I don't want my
daughter to have Evolution pushed on her in schools. Among other things.
Like children who's parents say bad words in front of their children
then they come to school(the children) and say those bad words in
front of my daughter and she then picks them up. I like that I get
to control her learning environment. To me that's the most important.
What
you hate about homeschooling: As of right now nothing because I haven't
done it yet. I have a good friend of mine that was home schooled and
the only things she didn't like was when she got into high school
she missed out on a few things.
Do you have a business or interest
you delve in on the side: I love to scrapbook.
Your pet's name
or most interesting animal you have ever owned: Well I have two pets
I have a dog named Bridget who is a Scottie. and I have a Maine Coon
Kitty Named Lily.
Your favorite color :Purple
How would
you describe your homeschool style: Well I don't really have one yet.
But when I do the preschool stuff with her I will work on things with
her until she seems bored with it then move on to something else.
Schedules
- thumbs up or thumbs down: that's a hard one to answer actually,
I mean some schedules are good others are not. In education though
I think some sort of schedule is necessary, but not to strict of a
schedule. one of the things I don't like about sending children to
school is that sometimes the teacher is to strict with a schedule,
and I think if your child needs more help in one subject then another
maybe spend a little more time on it. Or if they enjoy one subject
more then another and they don't want to stop doing that subject right
away go ahead and continue to let them do it for a little while longer.
I think as long as you are able to get everything done in the day
that needs to be done, then spending more or less time on something
is okay.
